Problems with profile page after reintalling old database

    I can’t save a new password through the profile page, I have to go through mySQL to do it. I also tried to change display name for the administrator and got this message

    Catchable fatal error: Object of class __PHP_Incomplete_Class could not be converted to string in
    /hermes/bosweb/web191/b1914/ipg.{with the file path here}

    I’m not sure. it was the current version when I had this website up about 7 months ago and saved the database. I just started it again and had to point to the old database in my wp-config.php but I couldn’t get the site with the old content files so i overwrote the old content files with the new installation content files and that’s where i am now. i have allot of plugins but mo other issues

    The reason I asked was that if there was change in the Database structure from your old installation to the new one, then You cannot import a database into a 3x install and expect it to work.

    I remember that i had upgraded to ver 3.0 before I saved the final database

    Off hand I don’t remember if there was a database structure change between 3.0 and 3.04.

    That’s your choice.

    -make sure to backup everything.

    -Wordpress also offers export/import feature, whereby you can export contents (posts, pages) of your blog in .xml format and then you can import it (see Admin >>Tools>>>Export/Import)

    -you also have the option of engaging a professional to assist you if you feel that this is beyond your capabilities to resolve the issue (I am not a consultant, I do this just for fun!).
