• I’ve been having a problem with my WP site on Godaddy servers for a week now and nothing seems to be fixing the issue…and they are NO help.

Regardless of what plugins I turn off, uninstall, etc. I’m getting a 15 – 60 second load time lag on my site. When I run the pingdom.com tests it’s consistently showing that most of that time is waiting on the Servers (before it even starts processing style sheet, etc.)

And GoDaddy is blaming it on servers, wordpress and everything else under the Sun but offering no SOLUTIONS.

I’ve run their p3 plugin that says my plugins are only causing a 3-4 second delay……..

So, there is no explanation or SOLUTION…. to the initial wait on the server.

    DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS???

(*Additional info: I know I need to do more optimization but that doesnt explain the initial server delay. And the fact that this problem started a week ago…. )

  • Looks like redirecting and client errors, the initial page loads are killing it, have you tried a page cache plugin wp-super-cache?

Looking at the page source, there is no cache plugin, so pages are delivered every time, with a cache plugin it will load the html while the dynamic content catches up.

Also you have a tweet plugin that load jqury in the header, see if that can be loaded in the footer, sometimes there is a checkbox.

Is there anyway you could switch out to the default theme and test the speed?

Also, try saving your permalinks to a new setting. Then, after they are saved, switch it back to your original setting and save again.

On the Pingdom page, look at Analysis you will see two values.

3xx The request was redirected to another target
4xx A client error occured, for example 404 page not found

Your images are showing as 1.1mb, try the smush it plugin.

As for the super cache plugin… I’ve tried it before but it caused serious issues. Maybe that is based on how I configured it.

    Any suggestions as to settings?

Will look at the twitter issue…

Will try the smush it plugin…

Can’t really go back to the default theme…. it’s already gone and I have to make this one work (until I can find someone that won’t charge me an arm & a leg to optimize and make changes to the code/theme…which I need to do soon!)

    THANK YOU ALL!!
