Problems with jetpack comments
-
Hi there!
As a first step to troubleshoot both problems, try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.
If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Fifteen theme to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
Let me know what you find out and we’ll take it from there!
Thanks for working with me on that 🙂Hey Stef
Thanks for the reply
I changed the theme and deactivated the plugins and the error persists :/
Thanks for trying that out!
There are another couple of things I’d need you to check/test before escalating the case to our tech team:
– Update your PHP to its last version. Your host can help do that with your, otherwise you can follow the steps listed here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-update-your-php-version/
– Make sure Cloudflare is well set up: we have instructions here:
https://jetpack.com/support/getting-started-with-jetpack/configure-jetpack-cloudflare/
https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us/articles/218377098-WordPress-JetPack-and-Cloudflare
It looks fine to me, but better safe than sorry 🙂– Check that there are not conflict with ContactForm7, and Akismet and CF7 are “talking” to each other and set up accordingly: https://contactform7.com/spam-filtering-with-akismet/
If all won’t help, then I’d like to run some more tests with you on your site to try to figure out what’s happening. Could you contact us via this contact form, mention this thread and attach some screenshots of what you’re seeing on your end?
If you don’t know how to make a screenshot, here’s a quick explanation:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/Look forward to your reply, and thanks in advance for your cooperation in sorting that out with us!
Stef, sorry for the delay.
I have not made the requested changes yet, but I’m having a new bug with the jetpack comments.
Now those who comment on my posts are getting an error stating that the connection was declined. This error does not happen when I disable jetpack comments
Plus. I can find where to contact you by the url you posted.
I’ve just run a new test on your site’s Jetpack connection and I’m seeing a persistent timeout error. This is likely because the site is slow to load. You can see the results of the speed test I used here:
https://tools.pingdom.com/#!/eL4l11/https://finefi.com.br/
If you can get the site to load faster, that should make the connection to Jetpack more consistent and fix those troubles that you’re having with the comments.
If you’d prefer to continue to discuss this privately, you can contact us here:

Please be sure to mention this thread. Thanks!

I’m having two simultaneous problems with the comments I receive in my posts, when one error doesn’t happen, the other happens. I deactivated the Jetpack comments and the errors don’t happen.
1- All information that people leave in the comments are not appearing to the administrator, email, comment, site nothing appears. The only thing that gets to the admin is a blank comment left by an anonymous user and that user’s IP
2- The other mistake is that when people post their comments they are prevented by an error stating that the comment is duplicated, but it is the first time they are commenting.
I ask for help, please.
