Problems with an WP installation not working properly

    A friend of mine has ask me to look into the problems they are having with their site. The url is http://aeywrestling.com. It was a site donated to their wrestling club and partially set up by the web hosting company– http://www.portalwebhosting.com/ They installed the version 3.1.1 and sent an email to finish activating. My friend did go in and activate wordpress and started trying to add pages. It is allowing us to create pages, but when we try to view the pages we get the following error:

    Not Found
    The requested URL /about-us-2/ was not found on this server.

    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
    Apache/1.3.42 Server at aeywrestling.com Port 80

    Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to fix this problem?

    Sounds like a permalink issue. Try the following:

    1) Ensure that there are no static Pages in the trash. I suspect that you have a static Page, “About Us” in the trash.

    2) Reset your permalinks to default, via Dashboard -> Settings -> Permalinks, then set them back to pretty permalinks.

    I have emptied the trash of the deleted pages, reset the permalinks to default, then back to a ‘pretty permalink’ and am still running into the same problem. Would I be better off deleting wordpress and re-installing it? I also tried to make some changes to the font in the style sheet and was not given the option to save the changes.

    If i have the pages as default links, then they show, but when I try to make them year-month-name, then they are not found
