When trying to upload new media to my media library I get the following error:
SB_JW6.jpg” has failed to upload due to an error
Unable to create directory /home/www/c1dddf21238089e6e6ba81de30a5ecc6/web/../wp-content/uploads. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

It appaers to want to create a non-existant directory in a non-existant directory.
Please advice on how to solve this.
PS. I recently changed my theme… Could this have anything to do with it?
    Regards,
    Willem

  • WordPress creates a new directory if you tick the box ‘Organize my uploads into month- and year-based folders’ for each year and month on the settings > media page.

The page above also specifies the location of the uploads.

Can you ask your host to add write access to the uploads folder?
try reverting back to your old theme temporarily and seeing whether you can add images or whether you still receive the error. This will eliminate any theme issues or highlight the theme as the problem.
