    Dear,

I’m working with the reverzo theme (themeforest) and have two difficulties at the moment.
It’s very hard to upload images into my portfolio section (Jpeg images in lowest size possible for purpose) most images give me an error frame at the right and for some images after trying several times it works suddenly.
The error frame sounds something like this:

    Error ‘the file name’
    HTTP error

Further I haven’t finished my website yet and if I go and take a look to it, I find it quit slow. How can I make it faster. There is not a lot of information on it, it’s not even finished at the moment, still it is very slow?

Thanks for your time and effort to help,
    dries

Ps: I’m an artist, images of my work are quit important. Because of the high amount of images I have to upload I’m losing a lot of time with these problems.

Is there nobody helping me with this simple problem?

    driesketels,

Members of this forum take time out of our work day to help people and can’t possibly get to every post right away.

With that said, I would start by deactivating plugins 1 at a time to see if one is causing a problem. Other than that, it could also be the images themselves—what are the file sizes and file types? A large png file is going to be much slower to upload than a small jpg.

    Dear Campbell,

I understand and am very thankful for any help that might come in my way such as your post.

All files uploaded are jpeg files. They are all compressed to a low size approximately 600 kb of which some are a bit larger up to 1 or 2 mb.

The problem is not that the images upload slowly, the problem is that they don’t upload at all! Or after uploading time form an error page and therefore don’t show up as an image.

Thanks for your tip I tried to deactivate the plugins that are not ‘required’ for the theme I’m using, but this didn’t make any difference! Do you have some other tips?

Still it seems strange that the size of the pics might form a problem (the maximum size for uploading is 65 mb or something). Is this maximum size relevant or?

It can depend on your hosting, too. If it’s a slow host the upload will be very slow.

There is some info in this post, and a lot of people were able to fix it by changing the .htaccess file as mentioned in this post: Take a look and see if that offers any more help.
