Problems moving social icons

I’ve successfully moved the social icons as per this snippit > http://presscustomizr.com/snippet/move-social-icons-tagline/ but when floating header elements left and right, the menu and SI blocks move to the top of the header. No amount of aligning them with CSS will bring them down to the bottom of the header for me. Can someone help bring them down ? Thanks !
