Problems installing custom Theme! Please Read!

    I created my own theme.
    I found out how to upload it via ftp.
    BUT , I would like to know how to compress the file to a .rar file for others to be able to download it.

    Download a compression software (e.g. Winrar or something) then use that to compress your file(s).

    Please consider using .zip instead.

    Only .zip compressed archives can be automatically installed via the WordPress Dashboard.

    See any of the themes at http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/ for an example.

    James- How would I go about compressing the folder into a .zip?

    On Mac, you’d just right-click the theme directory and choose Compress.

    On a PC, there’s probably some software that can do it. If there’s a WinRar, there’s probably a WinZip too.
