Problem with UTF-8 characters

    Cloning of my small site generally worked okay. But…

    Most of my posts & pages contain non-ascii, UTF-8 characters: curly quotes, em-dash, ellipses. (I type them in directly from my keyboard on my Mac.) These show up fine in multiple browsers on my main site. But these characters come out corrupted on the clone site.

    I cloned from my real site to a local MAMP site on my Mac Pro.

    I’m happy to send along before/after examples.
