Problem with trailing slash on pages

    Hi everyone,

    I was hoping someone could provide a solution to the problem I have.

    When I create new pages/try to edit existing pages on WordPress, the software always add a slash to the end of the URL. This is frustrating as I want everything to appear a little cleaner and consistent (some pages are ok).

    When I use the permalink customise feature it does not fix the issue. I am using the following plugins which may be causing an issue –

    – Permalink editor
    – WP Fastest Cache
    – Yoast SEO

    Any advice on how I can edit the existing pages and have more control over new pages would be greatly appreciated.

    WordPress actually redirects all requests so that the URL includes the trailing slash. I suppose you realized that much 🙂 This is done intentionally. I could not tell you why though. I’m sorry this “feature” is contrary to your aesthetics, but I would encourage you to embrace it instead of fighting it. I’m unsure if it’s even possible to suppress this behavior. It would not be easy if it’s even possible. You should go so far as to include it in any links you share, it’ll save visitors getting an extra redirect.

    Despite all of that, note that the URL values in General Settings must not include a trailing slash. Go figure.
