Problem with sizing and fast forwarding in Flow Player

    Hi,

    Thanks for a great plug in! I am using Flowplayer and have two issues I’d like to ask about.

    One is that I noticed that you can’t skip forward in a video unless it’s already been played once. I don’t know if this is a buffering issue or is caused by something else. Is there a fix for this?

    Secondly, the splash images and videos on my site don’t completely fill the Flowplayer video player area. No matter how I size the player, splash image and/or video, black vertical columns always appear in the player on the left and right side of the splash image and video. The aspect ratio of the player, the splash image, the original video, and the resized video are all identical, or are the same proportionally. The original images are also larger than what I designated on my site, where they are scaled down proportionately. So, why is this happening and is there a fix for this?

    IF not, is there a way to turn the color of the black vertical columns to white so that they match the background color of the webpage and blend in rather than standing out?

    I want to add to my post above. I fiddled around with my videos a bit and got one video to show without the black columns. I also double-checked and discovered that the aspect ratios for my videos are slightly different. The aspect ratio of the video that fits the player without showing black columns is roughly 5.8:3. The aspect ratios of the other videos are 4.8:3. and 4.66:3.

    Is there a way to customize the size of the player to fit videos with non conventional aspect ratios so vertical black columns to the left and right of the video don’t show in the player?

    If not, is there a way to change the color of the vertical black columns on the left and right of the videos to be white?

    Please also answer the question about fast forwarding in my post above.

    Quick Answers:

    1. You can definitely make the black side bars white in CSS.
    2. Please make a second post about Fast Forwarding in our forums. You cannot forward beyond what is buffered, although you can jump ahead by dragging the play head (you’ll have to wait for the new section to buffer).
