    Hi,
I’ve never migrated a site before, so apologies if this is a stupid question.
I followed an online article to migrate from Xampp localhost and got as far as the last bit – running the migration script. I’m at step 2 but I’m not sure what to put in the host and database fields, as nothing I put in there works – I get a fail in the validation section if I leave it as localhost or if I change it to the web host and likewise for the user credentials.

I really need to get this site running, so can you help please?

  • Hey @handyann

Thanks for the feedback! There are a few items in the FAQ that may provide a solution to this issue, this one may get you going.

    Also specifically your question:

        – Database Install

Let me know if this helps~

Thanks for your reply Cory. Nothing helped but I did solve the problem by accident. Your FAQ’s and the article tutorial I followed both said to use http:// at the beginning of the URL to open the installer. On yet another try, I forgot that bit and just put in ‘thedomainname/installer.php‘ and it worked. My site was migrated and running perfectly 3 seconds later!

I have to say, I was expecting to have a whole load of broken links and lost images to fix, but there was not one – everything works exactly as before. Overall a great plugin! Thanks a lot.

    Thanks for the update!
