Problem with Header media background video since update

    Hello,

    After WordPress updated a little over a week ago, the background video in my header section posted itself in a similar way as a regular embedded video.

    What you see now on the site is the header featured image with the video floating on top. The video used to be in the background across the entire header “Hero” section with the text on top.

    I’m not sure what I need to do to fix this back to the way it was. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hey @pagetown,

    Thank you so much for reporting this, I run a couple of tests and I could confirm that there is a bug, occurring with the latest version of WordPress.

    I made sure to inform our developers about it, you can check the progress on the link below:

    In the meantime, you can resolve the issue by using the following plugin:
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/jquery-manager/

    This plugin will allow you to reinclude missing script libraries removed from WordPress 5.6 until the issue is patched. You will need to choose the older versions of both jQuery and jQuery migrate.

    I strongly suggest creating a full backup of your website if you opt for this workaround.

    The good news is that the JQuery plugin worked and solved the header background video problem.

    The bad news is that the plugin prevents the menu from working on mobile devices. :/

    Until the issue gets patched, I think we’ll just live without the video.

    Is there an update on when this feature will be back to functionality? My client is asking what the status is as her header is not currently functioning correctly.

    Regrettably, there is no new update yet, however, the issue is still opened at this time so it will be reviewed by our developers.

    Any news on when this feature might be repaired? There have been two WordPress updates since I submitted this ticket and it’s not been addressed.
