    Hey guys,

I´ve just installed WordPress and now I want to install some plugins.

But when I press “install”, the website asked me for FTP credentials of my server.

I entered the credentials for the root user, but this doesn´t work. I receive the following error message each time: “Failed to connect to FTP Server mydomain.com:21”

I’ve also tried to create a new user (I’ve given him all needed rights), but this hasn’t helped either and I’m still getting the same error message.

I hope you can help me!

    Best Regards
    Jannick

I advise you to download filezilla and use it with passive mode, is the ftp server on a hosting or yours?
if it is yours you must also check if your connection has the door unlocked.

Where are you trying to install plugins? Thru FTP? And have you tried installing them inside the dashboard of WP?
