    I am using the C-Panel at 1and1.com

I am stuck on step 2 of the install process. My phpMyAdmin, ver 2.6.4-pl3 is different then in the install manual. I see no where to create a user and the database is created in the very first step from the C-Panel.

I can can create a table but I thought they would tell me what yto call the table? The user already seems to be created for me. It wants me to select “Privileges” but I can’t see that anywhere.

    Can Anyone help me?

You don’t need to create any tables. Just an empty database.

It wants me to select “Privileges”

    Just select “All” for privileges.

There is no “privileges” or “all”.

    In 1and1’s C-panel I select MySQL Administration.
Then I click “New Database” and enter a description of the database. Then enter a password twice then click setup and wait for 15 minutes.
Next I find my database and click the “phpMyAdmin” button on the far right.
MySQL Control Center link comes up and I click it to get to phpMyAdmin.
There are three things I can change here.
    1. Language
    2. MySQL connection collation
    3. db381189887 (-) (in the left margin
Clicking number 3 above asks me to create a table and give it a name and the number of fields.

None of the above is in the WordPress install manual. I am lost.

    Thanks for your help

You need to either contact your hosts or check their documentation/knowledgebase.

One other thing, db381189887 is listed as both the database name and the user name in “MySQL Database Set Up and Configuration” as soon as I create the database.

    That’s standard in 1&1.
