Pro version question, form builder

I have an event submission form set up with attributes but I would like set which fields are required.

I’ve seen several people mention that the Pro version allows you to do this with the Bookings form builder.

However, before I buy the Pro version, I need to understand if the Form Builder for Bookings works in the same way as the Event Submissions form, can it work as a substitute for Event Submissions? I don’t think that I need “Bookings” per se. Unless I am misunderstanding how “Bookings” works and can make it work as an Event Submission Form.
