1. Bumping after less than an hour is a sure way to NOT get answers. Bumping is considered a very bad manner around here…
2. You have asked 3 questions on your onw:

3. Your 4th post was hijacking another topic – you do NOT have the same problem since you are not using the same theme. Period.
4. When you asked a meaningful question – you got answers.
5. For your host and your possibilities to customize things there – do a search: you will find 1and1 is considered one of the worst hosts for WP; especially if you used their “one-click” install. That’s a different animal, not a usual WP blog, so we don’t know anything about it – except it doesn’t work normally.

If they don’t allow customization – what can we do about it, except telling you: get a decent host.
