    Hi,

A user must now agree to the Privacy policy in order to install the free version of the plugin.

In order to use the free version of WF a user does not need to go to the WF website, nor register at the website, etc.

    I went to:
    https://www.wordfence.com/privacy-policy/

And this policy covers very general privacy on topics as:

    Visiting the site

    Account; Purchase; Payment Information

    Etc.

But I dont have to visit the site, and don’t have to purchase to use the free version.

So I find it very difficult to understand the privacy policy of the plugin itself.

What privacy policy does the plugin itself have??

Eg does it phone home. What info does the plugin itself share with Wordfence company? Etc?

    Hi @wpfan1000,

The only information that the Wordfence plugin sends to Defiant (the company) is anonymous attack data.

    https://www.wordfence.com/help/firewall/brute-force/#wordfence-security-network

Enabling this feature causes your site to anonymously share data with Wordfence on hack attempts. In return, your WordPress site receives the IP address information of hackers that are currently engaged in brute force hacking activity so that your site can immediately block those hackers before they are able to engage in a brute force attack on your site.

If you connect your site to Wordfence Central, your website’s name, IP address, and basic diagnostics are also shared with Defiant.

    Hi @wfdave,

Thanks very much for letting me know that.
