Privacy confusion?

I am a new VideoPress (paid) user. I have my site set to only show videos to logged in users by default. I’ve uploaded several videos and they’re showing on the front end to logged in users as expected. I’m also using the Block Visibility plugin to limit which users can see which videos, and it has been working without issue.
But then… I selected several blocks, including several VideoPress blocks, and created a synced pattern with them. That’s it. Changed nothing else.
Now, when the logged in user views the front end, the videos they could see previously are no longer available. Where the video should be is the message “This video is private. Make sure you are logged in and a member of the site.” Again, they are logged in. And they were able to view the video as expected until the video was added to a synced pattern in the block editor.
Sadly, the synced patterns are necessary here… I can’t just do without them in this instance. But also… the videos are necessary too!
Please help.
