Hello,
Thanks for reaching out.
We understand that the primary category you have selected is not showing in the breadcrumbs path. Can you confirm that you have implemented the Yoast SEO breadcrumbs according to this comprehensive guide? https://yoast.com/help/implement-wordpress-seo-breadcrumbs
Hello Maybellyne,
Thanks for your response.
Yes I can confirm that I used the guide. So the “main” category IPA is showing. But there are also 2 subcategories and only one of them is showing. In this case New Engeland IPA, which is not the primary sub-category.
Hi @bierenbrouwsels
Upon checking, the screenshots from your first message don’t seem to be loading as expected.
You may have to experiment with the breadcrumb pathway. If you select the ‘primary category’ as the parent category, it won’t display the subcategories. If you set one of the subcategories as the primary category, it should display both the parent category and the subcategory in the breadcrumb path – https://yoast.com/help/implement-wordpress-seo-breadcrumbs/#pathway
Could you check if this is working with your default posts and pages? If this issue is only occurring for your WooCommerce shop and pages, you might also have to check if that is actually the WooCommerce breadcrumbs outputting and not the Yoast SEO breadcrumbs, which in that case, you’ll need the add-on Yoast WooCommerce SEO plugin to hide the WooCommerce breadcrumbs and use the Yoast SEO breadcrumbs.
