Responsiveness will always stretch to fill its container. Depending on your theme’s capabilities, you could put the gallery in a smaller container altogether. Or you could turn off responsiveness and set size.

Did you turn off the plugin’s sizing feature and then set the default dimensions option with your desired size?
(check) Default Dimensions: Make your videos have a default size. Recommended: 800 x 450 (NOTE: If responsive sizing is also turned on, your videos will be responsive but also keep this aspect ratio.)
(uncheck) Responsive Video Sizing: Make your videos responsive so that they dynamically fit in all screen sizes (smart phone, PC and tablet). NOTE: While this is checked, any custom hardcoded widths and heights you may have set will dynamically change too. Do not check this if your theme already handles responsive video sizing.
