nobody? 🙁
it reverted back to todays date again today
i keep setting back to 1/1/13 and later on when I look it’s back on the present day as just published
driving me crazy

never mind, redoing the blog from scratch … I looked at the php admin table for posts and the posts that kept reverting were in that section MANY MANY times
it all looked wrong to me and the only fix I saw was to start from scratch

still nobody else chiming in on this?
well, I had deleted the ENTIRE site out of my hosting, put it back, set up a new database installed wp and guess what … my first post that I set to 1/1 now today says 2/24
and guess what, that is todays date … WTF
any thoughts on this would be nice
in the mean time, I guess the other solution is not to pre date posts which is not a solution that makes me happy

Your post is basically summarized as “Something weird is going on but I’m not providing any details such as a link, plugins I’m using, or which theme. OMGWTHBBQ Why isn’t anyone chiming in??”
Okay that’s a slight exaggeration but not by much. 😉
If you want help from other volunteers such as yourself you’re going to need to give us some tangible information.
– What’s your self-hosted WordPress URL?
– What steps have you taken to reproduce or eliminate this problem? Have you deactivated all of your plugins and switched to the Twenty Twelve theme?
– Can you reproduce the problem on demand? From above I don’t think you can but asking never hurts.
– Have you spoken with your host? If your database is getting rolled back that would revert anything you’ve done editing wise.
We’d like to assist you (this is a volunteer support forum after all) but if you provided some more useful information that would help us all out.

Just an update … did troubleshooting as suggested.
default theme had no issues with no plugins turned on
put my theme on had no issues
then turned on plugins and BAM … same thing.
So I knew it was a plugin
discovered the plugin …
SEO SearchTerms Tagging 2 has an option “Promote old post with no search engine traffic” which for the first time ever I enabled it, cause it sounded like a cool option.
have used this plugin with no problems before without that option turned on.
Well, not cool, it was the culprit, turned it off and all better now.
