Precedence setting for login not working

We had no luck in getting the setting Allow a POST or GET "redirect_to" variable to take redirect precedence to work. When navigating to eg. /wp-admin, which redirects to login page with a redirect_to=/wp-admin parameter, the page displayed after logging in is the redirect URL specified in the plugin’s settings, not the one from redirect_to parameter.
