• Hello everyone,

I changed my front page to a static front page, and made a new page for posts (using Reading settings). The problem is that my posts page isn’t functioning properly. When I attempt to visit that page, I simply see a blank page (not the blog’s template) with this on it:

    Index of /blog

Parent Directory <– this is a link back to the main site

You can see it live here: http://www.japneetkaur.com/blog/

I looked around for people with similar problems and most people’s problems were that posts were not showing up on that page, but my page isn’t showing up altogether. Not sure how to resolve this. I switched over to the Twenty Fifteen theme to make sure it’s not my theme causing issues, and the same thing happened while I was using that theme.

I’m currently using the theme Graphy. I’d be happy to provide any other information, just not sure what’s helpful.

    Thank you!

  • Change your permalinks to default and see what happens.

    Settings>permalinks

    Wow, that worked! Thank you!

Why, though? Does this mean that I won’t be able to use custom permalinks at all?

Set it back to and try it! When you save the permalinks option it writes the proper code to the htaccess file. When you use defaults it doesn’t need or use the htaccess file. Sometimes it gets messed up and needs rewriting so I could have asked you to simply re-save the settings you had. If it works still please mark this resolved.
