Only WordPress.com blogs can publicly appear in the WordPress.com Reader.
Your now self-hosted WordPress.org blog can appear in the WordPress.com Reader to your followers, but only if you use Jetpack’s Subscription module https://wordpress.org/plugins/jetpack/ and transfer your WordPress.com followers to it: https://jetpack.com/support/subscription-migration-tool/
To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_vs_WordPress.com
Hi James, thanks for your response.
Thanks, I did transfer my followers using this process over 6 months ago, and they posts were still showing in reader and being emailed to my followers. But for some reason my last few posts haven’t been showing in the reader to my wordpress.com subscribers?
Ok, in that case I recommend contacting Jetpack support via https://jetpack.com/contact-support/
Ok, thanks for that – I will get in touch with them 🙂
Just FYI – here is the response I got 🙂
Thanks for getting in touch.
It appears that Jetpack is not connecting properly to the WordPress.com servers. As a first step to troubleshooting this issue, can you please try disconnecting and reconnecting your Jetpack connection?
To disconnect Jetpack from WordPress.com, click on Jetpack from your site’s Dashboard and then on “My Jetpack”. Once there, you’ll scroll all the way down where you’ll see a link that says “Disconnect from WordPress.com”. Click that to disconnect.
To reconnect, click the green button that says “Connect to Get Started”.
If that does not solve the issue, can you please try deactivating and deleting Jetpack entirely, and then try to reinstall it?
If you don’t have access to your site’s Dashboard, you can delete the folder wp-content/plugins/jetpack via an FTP client, like Cyberduck (https://cyberduck.io/?l=en). (If you’re not sure how to do this, you’ll need to ask your hosting company for help.)
Some hosts also provide a hosting panel (like cPanel) that has a “File Manager” tool – this will also let you browse to the same folder and delete the “jetpack” folder.
After that’s done, you can reinstall Jetpack by following these instructions:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Managing_Plugins#Manual_Plugin_Installation
Let me know if either solves the problem. 🙂
Thanks!
