Posts aren’t breaking into their assigned Categories

    Hi, whenever I click on a category, all posts appear and not just the ones that had been assigned to that particular category. It is the same for tags.
    I tried deleting all plugins and even tried different themes but problem remains.
    I am using the Fashionista theme and I want to use ‘category’ for a simpler navigation.

    I am a code illterate.

    2. This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.

    I’ve just added the Categories wingets on the right. Clicking on any of the categories is the same result. All posts appear on the screen.

    The URLs do not look like category URLs.

    Please disable *ALL* plugins and see if the problem goes away.

    Also, can you post a screen shot of what you have for your permalink settings? (use imgur.com to post the image)

    From your sites url:

    Your parent category(Main Category) is showing as : poetry,journal,travel,food-flora,confession,insightss

    and your sub category is showing as : food-and-flora

    Please check your category settings page.

    I’ve deactivated all the three plugins I use and changed my theme to twenty-fifteen.

    Couple of days back I deleted all the categories and tags and re-added each of them again but to no avail.

    Never mind, resolved it. I just had to change the category base to ‘topics’ and tag base to ‘tagged’.
