If you’re using an SEO plugin, such as WordPress SEO by Yoast you can set the image you want displayed for social sharing. I believe this is also the case for some other SEO plugins, usually you’ll see these settings below the post content editor. Of course in most social networks you can override in the share posts as well. Hope this helps resolve your issue.
Thank you.
I have set the image that I want displayed for http://cruisin4losin.com/slimming-mojito/ but it is still choosing an image from the sideline. Any other ideas?
Hi Marya521,
The social media networks for the most part now all use the OG tags to pull data from your posts that tell them what image to use, what description, title, link, etc.
Your best bet is to use a Social Media specific plugin (there are a lot of them in the repository) – the better ones setup all your OG tag data for you. I have not found the SEO plugins to do as good a job at this yet.

If you are very comfortable with adding code to your Theme’s template files, then adding the OG tags to your header.php file is not hard, in which case you wouldn’t need a plugin, but if you’re not comfortable doing that, then a Plugin is the way to go.
Thank you both for all of your help. I have been able to fix it!
