This one is driving me nuts – I may be missing something here.

I am setting up a new website, sort of over the top of the old one http://bmwtcnsw.org/Wordpress-TEST/

It is not live yet until I can overcome some issues, like this one.

I have a Classifieds section (parent) and two sub-menus – For Sale and Wanted to Buy. When I create a post in say For Sale, it ends up *also* in Wanted to Buy and vice versa, even though I select the appropriate page in Categories. Page attributes are set to “Page With Posts”.

I want a post to not copy over to another page – they stay in the page they are sent to

Anyone help with this one? Please be gentle – I am a volunteer webmaster for a social motorcycle club, not an IT person…

    TIA

    John

  • I’m not sure why you are using pages at all.

If your posts are blog posts and they are added to a category, then your menu should be created by adding these categories to the menus, not pages.

I think that by having both pages and categories set to the same name, there’s now a mix up.

You should be using pages, only for static content, so about us, contact etc… Your posts are for items that you will be adding to, so news, articles, etc…

I’ve got this sorted – now learnt the difference between blogs, pages and categories…
