Howdy @paladinbrewer,
Posts in Page is still actively used and supported, but in need of another WP update. We have a few updates that we’re going to push shortly but the plugin works fine with WordPress 4.8.2 in the meantime.
My main page/landing page (whatever you call it) has my posts on it of course, which I want. But I also want to add information above and maybe below those posts, like an Introduction or something. How can I do that?
Great question and not a super-easy one to answer.
The truth is that some of this is dependent on your theme and its capabilities. Some themes provide widget areas above or below certain content, which could work.
As you point out, another option is to use a plugin like Posts in Page. If you did this, I’d suggest experimenting with making a static home page that contains the info you want at the top and bottom and then using the Posts in Page shortcode to pull in posts from your blog.
Does that make sense?

Hello @sewmyheadon,
Thanks for the response. I went to the “Posts in Page” support forum and there was a post there saying it was no longer supported? Now that I look again, I misread it, so nevermind π
I’m new to WordPress…how do I put a page into a widget? Can I see the list of widgets? I hate to ask dumb questions…I’ve used Joomla for over a decade, and for some reason cannot wrap my head around WordPress. It is frustrating π
Hi @paladinbrewer,
You’re quite welcome.
Here’s more on Widgets: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Widgets
Good luck!

Oh nevermind to the above question. Sadly my theme only has Sidebar widgets π
