Posting to specific Pages

    Hey all,

    I’m a Filmmaker and first time wordpress user, i’m trying to build a site where people can easily get news on my projects and view my videos. Is there a way i can post my videos to my “Videos” page and News to my homepage? Also, how do i embed videos from my YouTube page directly to my site? My site is http://www.typhoonproductions.com.

    One way to do what you describe is to use categories.

    The Simply Exclude plugin makes it easy to include/exclude categories from the front page. So, you could assign the ‘News’ category to posts you want on the front page and include only that category.

    There are multiple ways to have a page that displays only a specific category. If your theme supports the WP Menu system, you can add a category directly as an item in the menu. If you prefer, or if your theme does not support WP Menus, you can use the Page Links To plugin to show a category (or categories) on a page.
