• I’ve just started using this wordpress package the last hour or two, and i’ve come up with this So far, http://www.aledevs.co.uk nice and simple. The next step i want to take now is to develope the Ask4Advice section (could you look at the site and view this page please). What I would like to do is be able to post some information Such as a Name, Question and Answer and also allow people to comment on each post(which basically happens on the Home page). What would i need to do to be able to have this function on the Ask4Advice page. Any help would be great.

    Regards

  • You should spend a little bit more with WP, getting familiar with its internal workings.
Pages are not posts – it’s better not to mix them. (Mostly you can’t even if you want 🙂

All those “functions” what you’d like on your Page – are not possible with WP out of the box.

What if i was to load up another WP database could i then connect the Ask4Advice page to the external one?

May not be possible out of the box, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t impossible. See this thread: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/56379?replies=7 – there’s a couple of posts in the middle there that discuss how to allow commenting on pages.

    You mean another WP install?
I don’t see how that would make it easier…

    TG,
I am afraid it’s not a question of commenting on ONE single page…

    [emphasis mine – m.]

That tells for me OP wants many “posts” on a single Page AND all of them commented on that Page.

Maybe I am wrong, but I have never seen (yet) something like this.

*GASP!* I see what you mean now…. egads! That’s a pretty tall order… and I’m not sure if it’s possible….
