Post to blog without logging in

Is it possible to post to a blog without logging in? My web developer is thinking that we need to use Formidable to pass data into the blog because WP will not allow new blog post to be input from the front-end, without first logging in. Are we correct in our thinking? I would rather use what is built-in if it is capable of allowing anonymous posts. If not, what is our best option?
