Post & Page drop down labels

Why does the drop down in the post and page metabox not use the custom labels for membership levels rather than “Level #0”, “Level #1” etc?

In my experience most users think of their levels with the labels that they give them and when these labels are not numerically based it can be rather difficult for some to remember which level is which.
