Post not recognizing the menu category

Hello,
I am in the process of finishing up a wordpress site:
http://www.robertturnerphoto.com/Everything is pretty much working how I would like it however there is one thing I would like to fix. If you select a section the main menu appears in the down (orange) state. However if you click directly to a post then the menu does not recognize what category you are in.
Example (I would like bio & essays to be hightlighted):
