Post language with multilingual plugin

Hi,

I’m using Polylang to generate multilingual versions of my posts.

I’ve noticed that after creating a translation of a post from French to Spanish, and publishing it, the Spanish post it showing up in Mastodon with the language set to French.

Am I missing something to set up the Fediverse post language to the WordPress post language?

Hey @louischan 👋

I am sorry, but there is no support for Polylangs custom multilang implementation in the ActivityPub plugin (yet), that is why ActivityPub falls back to the default language.

WordPress does not provide a generic way to set a language for a post, so we (would) have to implement a custom handling for every implementation.

Definitely, but I am not sure if it will work out of the box, because in the end it is the same issue: WordPress does not provide a generic way to store a per post language. But it might be possible to implement a similar compatibility layer that stores the lang in the correct polylang, WPML, … format.
