• Recently, I created “preview” subcategories for all of the main categories on my site. These are 20 minute excerpts for potential subscribers to easily preview based on interest. However, I do not want these showing up in the Top 10 list page I created nor in the right sidebar widget for each post.

I added all the category numbers to be excluded in the main settings as such: 7457,7454,7453,7468,7459,7460,7456,7467,7461,7469,7462,7455,7449,7452,7464,7465,7466,7451

However, they continue to show up in the list. I’ve used this before with no issues and am not sure what the problem might be.

Also, I noticed the widget does not have the “exclude” option but an “include” option but I assumed the main settings would crossover to the widget but it’s not clear since it’s not working on the main plugin. Even the dashboard is tracking these preview categories so I know it’s not just a caching issue on the frontend.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Disregard my question. There are different exclusion fields (some appear to be redundant) but the one for “Category” operates differently. It does not require the category ID rather the actual name.

Once I entered all of them separated by comma and cleared my caching plugin everything worked exactly as it should. Duh!

    Thank you!
