Post Count

Hi There,
Is there any way to show a reader hot many posts a user has indeed posted. I know that each user has a post page (http://blogname.com/?author=1 etc) but i would love to create a cusom link page with authors listed in it and then add how many cumulitive posts that have made…Is this possible at all?
