• I would link to the page, but it’s no longer there…

I was working on updating a post with the revision manager plugin and all seemed to be well. When I went to post it, it posted fine at first, but I noticed that I had the settings wrong and it was showing it as posted in 2013 and updated today.
So, I went to change the date and the post completely disappeared. It said invalid post type- and poof- it’s completely gone!
I can now not find it anywhere- it’s not listed as a draft- nothing. Gone completely!
I’ve never had anything like this happen before- and I worked all day on it so I’m freaking out!

    Hello!

Once you publish revision, it will merge itself with the original post.
You can find a tutorial in the description of plugin.

You may not find a difference in behaviour, because you propably updated post as an administrator, which means you accepted changes.

    This is not an error.
If you don’t want to accept changes yet, you can save revision as a draft.

    Hope you are doing well!
    Best regards 🙂

I understand that, but that’s not what happened. (That’s what normally happens.)
In my case, both the new revision and the old one completely vanished.

In the end, I was able to get a version of the old post through a backup- and then had to spend the next hours rewriting the whole revision again.

Now, I copy and paste the whole post elsewhere before publishing, just in case.
