When you open the carousel click Build posts query. Under Taxonomies start searching for the name of the category. The field will start to suggest category names for selection.

Is there a way to change the font size/type of the post carousel? I’m not too familiar with how to use CSS in this case.. (although I do know there’s a custom CSS feed on the widget… )
I’d recommend giving our new Custom CSS plugin a try:

It has a visual editor that’ll let you click on the element you want to edit, adjust it’s properties and values and then save those as Custom CSS.
For sure. Rather than me digging up the few selectors needed for this, if you can get going with SiteOrigin CSS you’ll have way more freedom to make similar small edits on your own and quickly. If you struggle with this particular task, let me know and I’ll jump back in.
