• hi – I need to make the images that I email to my posts retain their aspect ratio and fit the width of the post. At present they appear very large and cropped to a square. I found posts describing the same problem but no fix. One of your chaps said it was being worked on but that was a year ago. Is there any news or a fix yet?

Just to let you know – I deactivated photon and it’s all working now – if I reactivate photon I get large images cropped square even though I changed media settings of large to 800 X 600…

Could you post a link to one of the posts where you experienced the issue, so I can take a closer look and see what went wrong?

Sorry not to have gotten back sooner! Heres a link: http://t3st.co.uk/LFBwelfarefund/no-photon/

Its weird – I guess it cached the images when photon was activated before I changed the “large” default in media setting and keeps accessing the cached images…

Thanks for the extra details, that helps. Looking at the image attributes, I think you’re experiencing the issue outlined here:

Unfortunately we haven’t worked on a fix yet. But I’ll post again here as soon as this gets fixed. Until then, and if you use Post By Email a lot, I’m afraid I can only recommend that you leave Photon off for now.
