Possible not to save anything?

Maybe it is naiv but there is an option not so save to media library for both video and picture. is it somehow possible to use this plugin without any saving and have Featuresd picture filled out? Or does Youtube block live requestions from their thumnails.
For me it would be a good option to see which Youtube Videos are gone and are no more there as it is often the case by YT.
