• We’ve just resolved a php issue that’s been driving us mad. Link to support thread here.

Turns out the issue related to the version of php we were running – 4.3. We upgraded to php 4.4.4 and the issue resolved itself immediately.

We only managed this with help from our host. The warning note by wordpress on your upgrade guide page is as follows:

WARNING: WordPress Versions 2.1, 2.1.1, and 2.1.2 require PHP version 4.2 or greater […]DO NOT ATTEMPT TO UPGRADE if your server does not meet the minimum requirements!

We had php version 4.3 installed when we upgraded so, meeting the minimum requirements, we went ahead and carefully upgraded. But things went very wrong.

Should this advice not be looked into again and checked if that is in fact correct?
