    @steverit – Images of varying orientation will re-size differently based on the (maximum) dimensions you have set for your thumbnail sizes. If you want to get a closer uniform look you may want to look at using the “Thumbnail crop” option when resizing the thumbnails.

    You may need to regenerate your existing thumbnails and/or re-size them via the IGW when inserting your galleries.

    If you re-size the existing gallery thumbnails you may also need to clear your image cache under Gallery > Other Options > Miscellaneous to see the effects immediately.

    @steverit – The IGW, aka Insert Gallery Window, is the “green button” in the visual tab of the TinyMCE editor.

    Thanks,all sorted. Turned out to be the “over ride thumbnail settings” which I had ticked. I un-ticked this and got what I wanted.
