    1. Link Your Implementation of Popup Maker

    Irrelevant

    2. Describe what is supposed to happen

When you edit the Popup Title field and save, that edit should always be saved to the database.

    3. Describe what is actually happening

Edits to this field are often not saved. (Change is not reflected on the frontend, and reloading the page shows the old value on the backend.) I have only experienced problems saving this field; no other data on the page seems to suffer from this. There is no particular pattern as to when this will fail. It can fail if that is the only edit I make, or when it is one of several.

    Hi @swinggraphics,

Thanks for the post and sorry to hear you encountered this issue.

Are you currently using the Classic Editor for Popups? Have you tried ruling out plugin/theme conflicts as well?

If you have already checked for conflict and the issue persisted, please send us a ticket via Support Request – Popup Maker so we can take a closer look.

    We’ll wait for your email!

    No

Yes. Twenty Twenty-Five and no other plugins.

    Hi @swinggraphics

    Thanks for your reply.

Right now, the Popup Title field can only be edited in the Classic Editor.

As a workaround, you can copy and paste your title into the content area, then change it from a paragraph to a heading so it appears above your popup content. See here:  https://share.zight.com/mXuXLeJQ

Alternatively, you can enable the Classic Editor by going to Popup Maker > Settings General > check Use Classic Editor for Popups. See here:  https://share.zight.com/Qwu15Bpp

Once enabled, the field becomes available again so you can update the popup title. Feel free to switch back to the block editor (if you wish) by unchecking the option.

Let us know if you have other questions.

“Right now, the Popup Title field can only be edited in the Classic Editor.”

That is not true. Perhaps you mean, “Right now, the Popup Title field can only be edited reliably in the Classic Editor“? That is a very weird bug, which you should acknowledge as such.

    Hi @swinggraphics

    Sorry for the confusion!

There’s actually been a recent update: the Popup Title field is now editable in the Block Editor sidebar, matching the classic editor experience.

    See here: https://share.zight.com/E0upm7kp

Could you please try it out and see if it works for you?

Make sure your Popup Maker is updated to the latest 1.22.0 version and to clear all caches after making changes.

Let us know how it goes.

I’m already using 1.22.0. My original post is reporting a bug that exists in 1.22.0.

    Hi @swinggraphics,

Thanks for the response. We tested this on our test site with the latest version but couldn’t reproduce the issue.

    See our test here: https://share.zight.com/YEu2zD4D

Does the issue seem intermittent? Do you observe anything different during the times it did change?

We’ll wait for your response. 🙏

These are answered in my original post:

“Edits to this field are often not saved. (Change is not reflected on the frontend, and reloading the page shows the old value on the backend.) I have only experienced problems saving this field; no other data on the page seems to suffer from this. There is no particular pattern as to when this will fail. Hi @swinggraphics,

    Thanks for the reminder. 🙏

Since we can’t reproduce this currently, we’re unable to determine the exact cause. Our team is still looking into it, but if you spot a specific pattern, please do send it over.

We appreciate your understanding while we investigate.

@swinggraphics – That field should be saving via its own call to the REST API. Can you check console and network logs to see if that is throwing any JS errors or getting any server failures?

I was able to reproduce this several times last week with a default theme and no other plugins, but I am not able to currently. I was going to make a recording with the network tab open and try to catch it as it happens, but it is not occurring now. Hopefully I can chalk this up to a server problem that somehow stopped being an issue. Sorry to waste your time! Thanks for responding. I’ll mark this resolved and reopen it or start a new one if I’m able to add anything useful.
