    Optimizing The Firewall

    The Wordfence Firewall has a feature that allows the Firewall to be loaded before any other code loads. This provides the highest level of protection and we refer to this as “extended protection”. In order to get extended protection, you have to go through a short configuration procedure.

    Hi @freddyboy377,

    Can you explain which step in the optimization process you are stuck on?

    Wordfence provides a really easy-to-use wizard to optimize your firewall:

    1. It first allows you to backup your .htaccess or .user.ini
    2. Then it edits/creates an .htaccess or .user.ini with auto_prepend_file
    3. This causes all scripts to first run the Wordfence WAF file
