pop up contract form widget/button

I spent hours trying to make a contact popup form button. I could get the form to popup when someone came to my site. (I used contact form 7) but could not seem to get the triggers to work. The documentation is very confusing if you aren’t very familiar with CSS. The videos didn’t help either. Is there something somewhere that explains this in layman’s terms?

I used Contact Me on a page to test it and when I created the popup I added that same thing to the trigger where it has the CSS selector box. That didn’t work, so I tried simply adding “Contact Me”. I click and nothing happen.

Nothing happens when I click on the link on the page. I’m using the Marlin theme. Don’t know if that’s the problem?
