• Hello!

I have upgraded my site to 4.6 and I kept getting 404 errors. I found out that it was due to the polylang plugin. When the plugin is deactivated, the pages load normally but when it’s activated the plugin changes the url’s and I start getting the 404 errors on every page.
I never had any problems with polylang in the past. Do you have any idea what I can do to make it work again?

    Kind regards,
    Reinhout

The solution is to deactivate the plugin, go to settings –> permalinks. Change the link-style to the standard and apply. Load your site in a browser window and check if your site becomes visible.
If it is, reactivate the Polylang plugin.

You can change the link-style back if you want, or leave it as is.
Remember that your site was indexed with the permalinks in a certain style so if you mind SEO it might be better to reset your style.

that solution didn’t work for me, my woocommerce products return 404. i really don’t know what else to do. any help will be appreciate.

    Yadiihair,

Are you sure the polylang plugin is the only one causing the problem? I switched off al my plugins and activated them one by one to see what caused the problem. There was another plugin (backupguard) that I completely removed from the site.

I deactivated all plugins but polylang and activated one by one and the plugin causing the issue is page builder, every time I activate page builder, polylang breaks and when I deactivate it polylang works great. So I downgraded to the 2.9 version of page builder and fixed the issue temporarily. So I’m waiting for them to fix this issue in the next release.

    Hi Yadiihair,

Glad to hear you found a (temporary) solution. Thank you for reporting back here. It might help other people.
Maybe you could also report this problem to the page builder people? Maybe they’re not aware of this problem..

    Hi!

The Page builder authors are aware of the issue: https://github.com/siteorigin/siteorigin-panels/issues/258

Same for here. This happens to me after polylang plugin upgrade from 1.9.3 to 2.0 and there no database backup 😀 (I don’t use page builder)
