I really appreciate the kind words, and these are two great suggestions.
On the first one: yes, this is absolutely something I want to support. Making the footnote header and footer text translatable through Polylang (and WPML) makes complete sense for multilingual sites, and I’ve opened an issue to track it. I’m aiming to include it in an upcoming release, though I can’t promise the exact version just yet. You can follow along and get notified as it progresses here:

On the second one: footnotes on Pods custom post types: the plugin already renders on any post type that outputs its content the standard WordPress way, so I’d like to understand why yours isn’t showing before adding anything. A couple of quick questions would help a lot:
- Are your footnotes written in the main post content, or in a Pods custom field?
- Is the custom post type displayed using a normal template, or a Pods template/shortcode?
I’ve opened an issue for this too. If you wouldn’t mind adding those details there, it’ll help me pin down the cause and figure out the best fix:

I’ve also noted your idea for a per-post-type on/off option, which I think is worth adding regardless.

On the first, thank you for considering it for implementation in future releases!
On the second: the footnotes are written in custom fields in pods that are displayed using the pods shortcode on a custom post type singular page with [pods field=”field-name”]. Maybe that is why, I will switch to GitHub for further tracking down the issue.
