There’s a plugin for Firefox, User Agent Switcher, that allows you to change the User Agent used by your Firefox to, for example, pretend you’re an iPhone. 🙂

For Chrome there is – https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/djflhoibgkdhkhhcedjiklpkjnoahfmg

In Safari, you can enable the Developer menu in Safari > Preferences > Advanced.

Then select a custom user agent via “Develop” menu in the menu bar. (Develop > User Agent)
