@frank_p
The Facebook Graph API (look at the Publishing section) only defines a mechanism for publishing against the /feed/ or /notes/ connections to a profile.
But Fans of your page should see that page has posted on its wall in their news feed, just as they would if you manually went in an posted. See http://www.facebook.com/help/?faq=15203
This isn’t, however, something WPBook has any control over – we’re just using the APIs they make available.
@#johneckman
I understand…
So in threory if WPbook updates my facebook app then my app in turn post the blog update to my wall my fans should see the update?
I just want to be clear because when this update takes place it doesn’t seem to show up on my personal news feed.
Thank you for your response by the way.
It doesn’t show on your personal news feed because Facebook knows you posted it . . . (the access_token comes from your personal FB ID as the person who manages the page).
My understanding based on Facebook documentation is that it should also appear in the news feeds of fans of the page – but the algorithm FB uses to decide what appears in each person’s feed is proprietary – what you see in your feed is a subset of what could appear there, or so I’ve been told.
Thank you. you have beeno more than helpful. I am new to this and you have really helped me out.
